Loader Mounted Runway Broom

• Minimum loader with a bucket capacity of 5 cubic yards and 200 HP engine
• 46” diameter. 14, 16, 18, 20 foot lengths
• 503 rpm broom with 2656 ft-lbs of available torque at 5075 psi maximum working pressure
• Dual impeller forced air blowers, 12,400 CFM @ 315 MPH
• Hydrostatic drive, infinitely variable speed pumps and fixed displacement motors for broom head and blower
• Caterpillar 3126B, 300HP, electronic turbocharged diesel engine, 7.2 liter 75 gallon fuel tank for 7-10 hours of operation
• Welded construction framework
• True free floating broom head hitch for improved pattern control
  Dual swing arms with four pivot points which ensure the weight and location of the broom head remains approximately on the carrier vehicle center line regardless of the position of the broom head
• Broom oscillation allowing broom head tilt independent of chassis position for approximately a 10inch surface variation at the casters
• Power transmitted to the broom core via gearboxes utilizing keyed tapered hubs to prevent any looseness in the connection for vibration concerns.
• Molded urethane drive cogs for torque transmission. Hardened steel pilot plates and core sprockets to support the radial loads
• Entire broom head vibration analyzed as final QA with report on vibration spectra (FFT plot).
• Broom package is self sufficient in that no power or controls are required from the loader
• Installation and hook up requirements:

Tractor Mounted Runway Broom

• Integrally mounted to a tractor having a 100HP or larger PTO drive

  • Such as a New Holland TV145 bidirectional. Use cab side for broom.
• 36” diameter @ 12’, 14’, and 16’ lengths
• 400 rpm broom with 1370 ft-lbs of available torque at 4200 psi maximum working pressure
• True free floating broom head hitch allowing broom to follow caster, not the tractor, to minimize brush pattern variation during operation.
• Hydrostatic broom drive utilizing the tractor’s 540 RPM PTO connected to a speed increasing gear box driving a Sauer – Danfoss 90 series pump with variable speed control.
• Power transmitted to the broom core via fixed displacement “Low Speed - High Torque” motors connected to the broom core utilizing keyed tapered hubs to prevent any looseness in the connection for vibration concerns. Molded urethane drive cogs for torque transmission. Hardened steel pilot plates and core sprockets to support the radial loads.
• Includes pump support, hydraulic reservoir and hydraulic oil cooler
• Broom oscillation permitting broom head tilt independent of tractor for approximately an 6-inch surface variation at the casters, allowing broom to follow caster, not the tractor, to minimize brush pattern variation during operation.
• Entire broom head vibration analyzed as final “Quality Check” with report on vibration spectra (FFT plot)
• Utilizes tractor’s controls, valving, and power for three broom operator function (quick disconnect type for hook-up)
